What I noticed most about the speech is how barack rarely used um. Especially in his little anecdote about the Ashley. the girl who worked for his staff. He also was so confident that it would have been really hard not to believe absolutely everything that he had to say.

I completely agree. Every time I have seen Obama speak publicly, I have been impressed by his rhetoric skills. He is extremely well-spoken, able to effectively articulate and communicate the most difficult ideas and beliefs, and very confident. I can't help but wonder if he has any help in writing his speeches. I find it hard to believe that anyone who has mastered their message and the public delivery of their message to that extent is reciting the words of someone else. Do you know what I mean?
I also thought that your closing remark was very interesting. While I agree that Obama's confidence is so powerful that it is hard for anyone not to believe absolutely everything he has to say, I think that this could be a dangerous thing for the American people. Not necessarily speaking about Obama specifically, but don't you agree that for the American people to blindly agree with someone based solely on the strength of their rhetoric and the height of their confidence in delivering their message would be "dangerous"? We should always be mindful of the content of the message, and not just of the impressive nature of its delivery. What do you think?
